A resident recently approached the Westwood City Board about an anonymous letter he received that included a copy of a City Ordinance.

The Board apologized to the resident and advised him the author acted without Board knowledge or authority.
The Board does not condone anonymous letters to residents, nor will the Board distribute copies of the Ordinances without a cover letter stating it is from the Board.

Please note, any official communications from the Board will be on City letterhead and will be signed by the sender.
No member of the Westwood City Board will hide behind an anonymous letter.

Residents should be advised that the author of any unsigned, anonymous letter should be accorded the same authority and respect as their signature – which is none.
It should also be noted Ordinances for the City of Westwood are currently under review by legal counsel to ensure they are legal and comply with state and federal requirements and do not conflict with Louisville Metro Ordinances.
Any resident who has a question about an Ordinance or about this issue should contact the Mayor or a City Commissioner directly.
